Hospitality Management (HM Soc) Society’s “The Project Cavendish” has launched its first 3C’s: Cavendish Community Caravan headed by the event’s Project Manager and the Vice President of HMSoc Ms. Joey Habla together with her team in the organization. The said event was participated by grade 11 students of Lagro High School in Quezon City under the supervision of Mr. Rowel Capistrano last February 27, 2020.
The 3C’s (pronounce as treez) program of the Project Cavendish geared to promote a healthier lifestyle and nutrition awareness that we can get from banana. The program aims to target different communities like barangay and schools in which they can utilize banana in a more creative way such as making banana muffins and pieces of banana bread. Since the organization is under the guardianship of the College of Hospitality and Institutional Management (CHIM), Hospitality Management Department (HMD), these young leaders used their cooking skills to motivate their audience to participate in the said activity. The President of Hospitality Management Society Mr. Dave Operio highlighted the humble beginning of the said project and enumerated its milestone. Mr. Arce Lapuz, one of the Homeroom Representatives has discussed the wonderful benefits of banana, this was followed by the core of the activity which is the demonstration of preparing ingredients or known as the French term mise en place in culinary means "putting in place". Ms. Habla shows the proper way of baking muffins and presenting the end products with a garnish icing, she also stressed the Do's and Dont's in baking. Energetic and enthusiastic participants have given a chance to decorate their muffins by garnishing it with icing.
"The Project Cavendish" is a semi-annual event of the Hospitality Management Society under the tutelage of the Hospitality Management Department of the College of Hospitality and Institutional Management.
“The Project Cavendish” is a brainchild idea of the advisers of Hospitality Management Society Mr. Josephus B. Cayabyab and his former co-adviser Mr. Enrique Perez. The said project was piloted during the leadership of the former president of HRM Society Ms. Mildred Presente in 2016.
